As the mother of two young children who progressed through the Infant Aquatic Survival program in Colorado, I am excited to now teach the life saving skills to children in Montana. My daughter started the Infant Aquatic Survival program at 14 months old and progressed from a floater, to swim-float-swimming with me in Aquababies, became a confident independent swim-float-swimmer in FunDays, and established a strong foundation of strokes in Strokes n’ Floats and Stroke School. At 6 years old, Paige is now a member of the Bozeman Barracuda Swim Team. It was important to me and my husband, Jim, to continue the Infant Aquatic Survival program with our younger son, Ethan, at the earlier age of 10 months old since our joy of family swimming with Paige brought us around water more often. Now at age 2, I continue to reinforce his swim-float-swimming during weekly lessons.

With a love of pools, beach vacations and SCUBA diving, my husband and I chose to teach our children Infant Survival swimming skills at an early age. Although nothing replaces adult supervision of children around water, we felt that possessing infant survival swimming skills would only help our children be safer. What we didn’t expect was how it changed our life. Our favorite family activity, amongst us all, is now pool time together. While Paige dives for shells or quarters in the deep end of the pool with Dad, Ethan slides off of the edge of the pool and swims to Mom. Memories of snorkeling in a Mexican lagoon and swimming in every hot spring pool we can find together will forever stay with us.

It is these types of memories I hope to give your family as I teach your child valuable skills to safely enjoy water with the swim-float-swim sequence. After over 10 years working as a mechanical engineer sending Rovers to Mars and telescopes to look for planets, our family moved from Colorado to Montana to be closer to family. That move became the perfect opportunity to share this amazing swimming program with the Bozeman community and make a difference in the lives of children by reducing the likelihood of aquatic tragedies.

Please contact me to discover how to give your child the lifelong gift of safer swimming.
